Safari catering for hunting camps · Limpopo
Veldtafel
Veldtafel puts a professional bushveld chef in your camp for the length of the hunt — your lodge, your name, our kitchen — so the food your international hunters remember matches the hunt they paid for.

How it works
One chef, the whole hunt. No rotating crew.
You book the hunt
Send group size, dates and the lodge. Your guests never see us in the booking — the meals are yours, under your lodge’s name.
We arrive a day early
Stefaans sets up in your kitchen or at your fire pit, with his own kit, before the group lands. The first dinner is on the coals when they arrive.
Every meal, arrival to departure
Breakfast before first light, a field lunch that survives the bakkie, a fireside dinner built around what your camp hunts. The same chef every day.
Based in Limpopo. [Stefaans: confirm base town and how far you travel]

Rates
Priced per hunter, per day, all-in
Food, prep, service and the chef for the full length of the hunt. Quoted per booking: send group size, dates and lodge location and you will have a per-hunter rate within a day.
A minimum group size and a minimum number of days apply. [Michael/Kelsey: confirm the minimum wording once the rate card is set — no number on the page for now]
Best fit: lodges hosting international groups who want the table to match the hunt.

About
Stefaans
[Stefaans: your story here — about 120 words, first person: what you cook, where you grew up cooking it, why you stay with the group from arrival to departure]
I cook for the outdoors — bushveld, fire, game meat, the kind of food a hunting camp should be serving. I stay with the group for the whole hunt, so the food is consistent and personal, not a rotating kitchen crew. [Draft filler — replace with Stefaans’s own words]

Lodge FAQ
What lodge owners ask first
What do you need from our kitchen?
Very little. Stefaans brings his own kit — it fits in one vehicle — and works from a fire pit, a boma or a basic lodge kitchen. A cold-storage point (fridge or chest freezer) and clean water are the only real requirements. [Stefaans: confirm exactly what you bring and what you need on site]
Who supplies the meat?
The camp does. Game from the hunt is handled from the skinning shed to the plate; anything not hunted (poultry, lamb, fish, vegetables, dry goods) is sourced by us and included in the rate. [Stefaans: confirm — do you take the carcass from the skinning shed, or only butchered cuts?]
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. Every dinner has a non-game option as standard. Tell us about allergies, halal or kosher needs, vegetarian guests or medical diets when you book and the menu is built around them. [Stefaans: confirm what you can and cannot accommodate — e.g. strict allergen separation at a fire]
Do you work alone or with a helper?
For smaller groups Stefaans cooks solo. For larger groups he brings one helper for prep and service so meals stay on time. The rate quoted covers whichever the group needs. [Stefaans: confirm the group size at which a helper joins]
Food safety and insurance?
[Pax: confirm the food-safety / liability position before this answer is written — no claim is published here until it is checked]
Draft shape of the answer: cold chain kept from purchase to plate, cooked temperatures checked, hand-wash station at the fire, public liability cover in place. [Stefaans: confirm what cover you hold or will take]
What if the hunt is cancelled or dates move?
Dates can move without penalty where the calendar allows. A deposit secures the booking; cancellations close to the date carry a charge for food already bought. [Michael + Stefaans: confirm deposit, notice period and cancellation terms]
